Death in State Custody Due to Medical Neglect in Zulia

The Venezuelan Prison Observatory reported the death of Jaime Alirio Vásquez Saldarriaga while in state custody at the Centro de Formación Hombre Nuevo Francisco Delgado in Zulia. According to the NGO, the 68-year-old inmate suffered from conditions including HIV and liver cirrhosis, and died due to a lack of medical attention.
