Dozens of migrants rescued in the Central Mediterranean

The crew of the rescue ship Ocean Viking has transferred 23 people including several unaccompanied children after a Frontex drone alerted them to a boat in distress in the central Mediterranean. Italian authorities also carried out a separate migrant sea rescue operation. Meanwhile, the IOM warned that although the number of migrants arriving in Europe by sea is falling, more people are dying during the crossings.
